You Are Normal!
Before we continue, I want to take a moment to reassure you that you are normal. Completely normal. I mean just look at all the people buying alcohol on your next flight. Some of those people might just be bored. Some may even be alcoholics. The majority, however, they only need something to calm their nerves.
And come on! Of course, you’re feeling anxious. Is there any other part of modern, polite society which is quite as painful? From buying the tickets to finding a place to park, the whole system is utterly confusing.
Of course, boarding the shuttle from the parking is just a brief respite before the real horror show begins.
Arriving at your terminal you first have to find your airline. Then you stand in line for twenty minutes to discover that it is, in fact, the wrong queue and you must start the process over again. Of course, that’s if you’re lucky enough to be waiting for an actual person (who isn’t wholly underpaid and overworked…not at all – I type sarcastically).
I’m not even going to address security. I travel with a medical device. Want to guess who get’s the pat down EVERY TIME? (Not to mention the occasional strip search.)
Confusing boarding processes, cramped seats, annoying passengers. We’ve all been there. I think I can stop flogging this expired equine.
My First Flight.
Growing up, we were not the type of people who flew off to destination vacations. We were, however, the type of people who ate welfare government cheese. So it’s likely no surprise that my first flight wasn’t until I was in my twenties and was on a business trip.
Honestly, it didn’t much bother me until it was time to land. What I later learned was a completely normal landing had me panting, sweating, and clinging to my seat with a death grip.
Thankfully for me, I eventually adapted. But experience tells me that not everyone does. And that’s why I’m making these hypnosis recordings. Hypnosis works incredibly well, and incredibly fast to help people with their fears, phobias, and anxieties.
You Can Overcome Your Fear of Flying!
Why are some people okay with flying, others eventually get used to it, and still others suffer from this fear and anxiety for a lifetime? Honestly, there are lots of reasons, but ultimately it boils down to the subconscious mind.
The subconscious is the realm of emotion, belief, and habit. It makes up between 85% and 90% of your total “mind.”
Conversely, the conscious mind, the realm of logic, reason, and willpower only makes up the remaining 10% – 15%.
This is why it’s so difficult to change on your own. You know, intellectually, that flying is the safest form of travel, but the deeper, more substantial, emotional parts of your mind are just too powerful.
At some point, a belief was formed in your mind, in your subconscious mind, that links fear with flying.
