You are normal!
It’s essential to understand that you are normal. Social anxiety affects literally millions of people. It is incredibly common. You are not alone.
Sometimes, when your friends and family are talking about all the fun they’ve had going here or there and doing this or that, you may feel like you must be the only person in the world who suffers from social anxiety. You’re not. It’s incredibly common and seems to be becoming even more common as our modern society lends itself to reinforcing social separation. There is hope though, hypnotherapy is an effective social anxiety treatment!
You can overcome social anxiety!
Normal or not, common or not, it can be incredibly difficult to live with social anxiety. Thankfully you don’t have to. There is real hope. Hypnotherapy is a highly effective all-natural treatment for social anxiety. And my free hypnosis recordings will get you started with hypnotherapy and start you on your journey toward overcoming your social anxiety.
Where does social anxiety come from?
Like all forms of fear and anxiety, social anxiety lives in the subconscious mind. Your mind is made up of two primary “spaces.” First, and the one that you’re most familiar with, is the conscious mind. This is the realm of logic reason and willpower. It is the conscious, waking part. It is the “you” part of your mind. The conscious mind makes up about 12% of the overall mind.
The second, much larger part, is the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is the realm of emotion, habit, and belief. The subconscious mind makes up about 88% of the mind.
Often when trying to make changes to our lives, or to overcome negative aspects of ourselves, like social anxiety, we rely on the conscious mind. Usually, we try to affect change by simply trying to “willpower” our way through it. Sometimes we might enlist the help of a therapist who asks us to keep talking about the problem in the hopes that eventually we’ll just get so bored of rehashing the same memories over and over again that we’ll spontaneously “get over it.” Real social anxiety treatment doesn’t take place in the conscious mind, however. To overcome social anxiety, you need to go deeper.
The origin of social anxiety.
There something fascinating about fear and anxiety, that maybe you’re already aware of. It’s that in the vast majority of cases, there is no clear origin. Sometimes there is. In rare cases, someone can look back into their past and find the beginning. A traumatic event or somehow linked to social situations. Most people though will never be able to identify that source.
Something else remarkable is that if you could identify the genesis of your social anxiety, there is a very, very good chance that it makes no sense whatsoever.
As we discussed, fear and anxiety live in the subconscious mind, and the subconscious mind is NOT a logical place. It is entirely plausible that as a young child you found yourself at a party or reception. Thirsty, you found your way over to a water fountain, and as you leaned in to get a drink, you were zapped with a shock of static electricity. From that moment on your subconscious mind, in an attempt to keep you safe, created a powerful fear of social situations. To this day the social anxiety that has caused you nothing but grief is all a subconscious defense mechanism created because of a little static electricity.
Now, that example may sound crazy, but the craziest part is that even my example of static shock is quite possibly much more logical than what currently exists within your own subconscious mind.
Hypnotherapy: An all natural treatment for social anxiety.
Trying to use the logical 12% of our mind to force the completely illogical 88% to change seems like a losing battle. And usually, it is. Hypnotherapy, however, is a wholly different social anxiety treatment.
If you desire to overcome social anxiety, why not go directly to the source, the subconscious mind? That’s how hypnosis works.
In hypnosis we skip the conscious mind and go directly to the subconscious. There we begin to weaken the old ways of thinking and feeling. At the same time, we start to create new ways of thinking and feeling. This is accomplished easily and naturally using the imagination and the power of suggestion.
When using hypnosis to overcome social anxiety, as with any other form of anxiety, there is no struggle to change or to “be different.” The change you desire comes from within. That same part of your mind which today causes fear and anxiety just starts to react differently. In fact, it’s very common for hypnotherapy clients not even to realize that things have improved until someone else points it out. You didn’t have to struggle to think or act differently. You’re still just you. You just aren’t affected by social anxiety anymore.
